[This is an excerpt from “Notes from the Hermit’s Corner”, a series of practical, advanced meditations on the Word of God based in Christian mysticism. These meditations are written specifically for those who walk in personal relationship with Christ. The purpose of these meditations is to edify members of the Body of Christ by enabling them to facilitate individual spiritual, mental, psychic and material transformation, in keeping with the Word.]
Becoming Transformed into the Revelation of Christ
by Rev. Michaele de Cygne
God’s purpose in bringing you to this world was to reveal Christ through you. (Gal. 1:15, 16) The primary reason you became incarnated here is to be the practical revelation of Christ.
Having accepted Jesus Christ into your life, Christ lives within you. If you have been baptized, you have symbolically put on Christ. (If you have not undergone the formal ritual of baptism, you may simply ask God to baptize you in Christ.) If you have put on Christ and Christ is in you, unless you have been renewed in the spirit of your mind, the only thing separating Christ within you and Christ without you is your mind.
Your mind is not you. Your mind is a personal resource God has given you to consciously interact with all that God has created. You are a spirit, your scope is beyond that of your mind, yet you operate within your mind to glorify God in the universe. Effectively, your mind is like a car that enables you to go anywhere in the universe, as well as a multipurpose tool enabling you to practically accomplish anything you can mentally conceive, regardless of where you are personally situated in the universe. You may also regard your mind as your “mental body”, (which is within your psychic or emotional body, your mental+psychic body equaling your soul and residing within your physical body.)
Generally, mind is secondary and subject to spirit; a mind cannot function without a spirit. Your mind has been placed in subject to your spirit; it works for you because your spirit empowers it. (Other spirits may empower your mind too; hence the nature of demonic possession, ergo spirits overtaking or subverting the individual’s spirit and using the mental body, perhaps even the physical body, for their purposes.) Just as another spirit may overtake a mind, a mind may be consciously offered or opened to another spirit as well; hence mediumship, on the dark side, or submission to and transformation by the Holy Spirit, with the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit, on the side of light.
[Understand, the disposition of your mind/mental body (or your mind set) also determines the conditions and even its circumstances of your physical/material body. If your mind is set on Christ, your physical well being and prosperity will follow suit; if yours is the mind of Christ, your life will be holistically transformed to dynamically express the fullness of God and the riches of His glory in Christ.]
For you to fully know the things of God, your mind must become the Mind of Christ. As a result of the spirit of your mind being dynamically renewed by the Holy Spirit, your mind becomes Christ’s Mind, thus establishing you as a new person; a new wineskin for His new wine. As such, you may then be spiritually filled with and become the fullness of God, in every area of your life.
Quiet yourself by praising God for a moment. As you do so, breathe deeply, inhaling at least to a 6-second count, holding the breath for 2-3 seconds, then exhaling for at least a 6-second count and pausing for 2-3 seconds before inhaling again. (If your breathing is impaired, inhale/exhale for a shorter duration, but make it consistent in order to establish a rhythm.) Saying “Hallelujah” once each second as you exhale is a great way to set your breathing while expressing the Divine into your midst. [Psalm 22:3] As you breathe, be aware of the increasing Presence of God around you and flowing through you.
When you feel ready to do so, if you have not already experienced being baptized into Christ, ask God to fully immerse you into Christ and imagine yourself being fully submerged in Him. (Although this may be radical, imagining yourself being immersed and submerged in the blood of Jesus, like being dipped into latex, is a very powerful way to experience being dynamically baptized in Him.) That being done, (with or without the visualization), there can be no mistake, you are definitely in Christ even as Christ is in you. However, there is still your natural mind to deal with.
As I mentioned above, your mind is not you. See yourself simply as a spirit, securely and peacefully sitting there with the Holy Spirit, you being fully enveloped in and infused or permeated by the Spirit. Then, imagine your mind as a transparent sphere, gradually separating from you and floating in the air nearly an arm’s length in front of you. See the sphere of your mind filled with and powered by a clear fluid (which is the energy of your spirit). Floating within that fluid (your spirit’s energy in your mind), see Christ as a slightly smaller, radiant sphere of white Light, like a miniature star. Next, see Jesus surrounding and encompassing the sphere within Himself. At that point, see the fluid of your spiritual energy on which your mind subsists being the only thing between Christ within your mind and Christ surrounding your mind. Although His Light freely flows through your spirit’s energy within your mind, that energy is not of God, it is of you. Next step; it’s time to call the Holy Spirit into action.
Ask/invite the Holy Spirit to renew or upgrade your spiritual energy within your mind with Itself. Next, see the Spirit flowing into your mind like a stream of Living Water, totally displacing the spiritual energy therein with Its own Energy. While you visualize that, understand that, since there is nothing separating the Holy Spirit and Christ, as the fluid of spiritual energy powering your mind becomes the Living Water of the Holy Spirit, your mind is becoming powered by the Spirit of God, thus the Spirit of Christ. See that transformation taking place until there is no apparent fluid separating Christ within your mind from Christ encompassing your mind; until you simply see Christ as One and your mind seamlessly being a part and expression of that One. It is still your mind, however, at that point, yours is effectively the Mind of Christ. Then, see your mind floating back to you and merging with you again.
Next, see yourself sitting in Christ, in Heaven and next to God, at God’s right hand. See everything relative to your life that is not a direct expression of God as being far below your feet; everything that has a name, favorable and unfavorable. If it’s unfavorable, you can choose to descend into it, but it cannot ascend to you and impose itself on you in any way. Illness, lack, relationship drama, fear and insecurity; all are far beneath you and have no place in you or your mind any longer. You have been liberated into the fullness of God! [Consider and take to heart Galatians 5:1]
Thank the Lord and the Holy Spirit for His effectively working in you to transform you into His image, then speak the following declaration/affirmation*:
God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, called me by His grace to reveal Christ in me. (1) I am the child of God by faith in Christ Jesus. I have been baptized into Christ and I have put on Christ. (2) God has quickened me together with Christ, (by grace I am saved), and has raised me up and made me sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (3), far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and has put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to me, His body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all (4), that now and for ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward me through Jesus Christ (5) to the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by me the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus my Lord. (6) I have put off the former conversation, the old person, and I am renewed in the spirit of my mind; thus, I have put on the new Person Which, in the image of God, is created in righteousness and true holiness. (7) The mind that is now in me was also in Christ Jesus when He was incarnate (8), and He now changes my lowly body, (mentally, emotionally and physically), and remakes it to be just like His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself. (9) Thus, I Am now the perfect man/woman, the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (10) I Am the fullness of God that fills all in all. (11)
Repeat the affirmation, as you simply recall the meditation (rather than repeating it, unless you wish to repeat it), before you arise from bed each morning and just before you go to sleep at night for 21 consecutive days.
